Santorini

Cruise departs from Naxos Port early morning. A luxury bus with an English-speaking guide meets you at Santorini’s port, where you begin your tour of the seductive island. First stop is picture-perfect, charming and colorful Oia Village (1 ½ hours). During your stay, pay a visit to the Maritime Museum housed in an old, traditional mansion; Santorini’s ships were the first to travel the Aegean over 7,000 years ago!

Next visit the island’s capital, Fira (2 ½ hours), built on and into steep cliffs overlooking the dormant yet still active, volcanic caldera (the longest in the world). Sit over coffee or a quick lunch admiring a stunning, world-famous view! Choose to visit the Cultural Center at the Venetian Gyzi Mansion, where events take place such as art exhibitions, theatre, etc., as well a permanent exhibition of old maps pertaining to Santorini and other Cycladic Islands. Or visit the Archaeological Museum, which houses many artifacts such as Cycladic pottery and figurines, representative of the island’s long history. Wander the labyrinth of colorful narrow pathways, each view more photogenic than the last!

Paros / Antiparos

Cruise departs from Naxos Port early morning. After a short ride, you arrive at Paros’ Parikia Port where you’ll meet your English-speaking guide for the day. Stroll together through the charming streets of Old Town learning all about Paros’ history, visiting the 13th century Venetian Castle and one of the oldest churches in all of Greece, Panagia Ekatontapiliani, dating to around 400 AD.

Board the bus and travel to the port of Punda to board the ferry to Antiparos, where you will meander through picturesque Old Town and visit the 15th century and still inhabited, Venetian Fortress.

Ferry back to Paros and re-board the bus to travel past the villages of Alyki and Drios, to Piso Livadi, where you’ll enjoy a break for a swim or something to eat.

Back to the bus to Lefkes, the former capital of Paros, and its breathtaking view. Then on to Marathi and its ancient marble quarries, where marble was mined for some of the world’s most famous statues from ancient times, such as the Venus de Milo.

Last stop on the cruise is Naoussa, the beautiful fishing village with its Cycladic charm, where you’ll stroll along its small paths to the port with its colorful fishing boats.

Amorgos

Morning departure for a day to explore Amorgos on your own.

Disembark at the island’s Katapola Port, set in a picturesque Cycladic fishing village. If you should wish to rent a car there are rental agencies at the port, or you can choose to use the local bus at the port for your exploration. The nearby Minoan ancient city above Katapola was the former summer residence of Minos, the first king of Crete. The island also has many other charming villages to visit. Amorgos’ capital, called Chora, is delightful and only five minutes from the island’s most famous attraction, the Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa. Opt to swim at one of the island’s lovely beaches, enjoy fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes with views of the magnificent Aegean, or simply wander around.
